- Pull off the road and out of the way of traffic.
- Turn off the engine as you will clog your air filter with sand.
- If possible cover your windshield because a violent sand storm can sand the glass.
- Park your car so that the engine does not face into the wind as sand will infiltrate into all parts of the engine.
