- Watch your environment while driving. Frequently check mirrors for potentially dangerous situations. Keep your distance for other vehicles and keep an escape route open.
- Avoid driving alone in dangerous areas. Plan your route and do not get lost.
- Drive with windows up and doors locked.
- If crashed from behind signal other driver to follow you to nearest police station – if you feel insecure call 999 or 911 on your mobile/cell phone.
- If car breaks down – this is when you wish that your battery is charged on your mobile/cell phone – pull a safe distance out of moving traffic – if safe tie something to your antenna – then keep your door locked. If you are offered assistance ask individual to call the police of a towing service.
- Be sure that an approaching officer is genuine.
- Give up your car if confronted by an armed individual.
