Mason jar beehive kit
Introduction
This is a mason jar beehive kit. It’s a good way to get your feet wet as a beekeeper without having to buy everything separately. If you want something more permanent, you can always upgrade later on. The bees love the honeycomb structure because it allows them to build natural wax combs within it!
Mason jar beehive kit
The Mason jar beehive kit is a great way to get started in beekeeping. Just add bees and honey!
This package comes with everything you need to build your first mason jar beehive. It includes: a wooden box (with holes drilled into it), a wax foundation, frames and top bars, plus candy board and bottom board so that you can start building your own bee colony right out of the box!
How to build a mason jar beehive
- Build the bottom box.
- Build the top box.
- Attach the top to the bottom using a rubber band or tape, then place it on a flat surface (like your table), so you can access it later for step 4 and 5!
- Attach two screens to each side of your mason jar lid – one at the front and one at the back! This will allow bees to go in and out of their home while keeping out unwanted intruders like flies and wasps who may want to come inside too!
- Attach an entrance reducer if desired (this helps keep rainwater out). You can also use bolts or screws to make sure everything stays tight before moving onto step 6!
